PTC Velocity is a Sales Enablement Platform, powered by SAVO Group. The goal of this project was to revamp the web UI and navigation that result in better user experience.

Though its purpose is to enable better sales process, PTC Velocity’s bad UI and poor content organization were not tailored to fit the needs of our daily users, the sales reps and partners reps.
We knew the website refresh needed to start from home. The old homepage did not serve much of its purpose. Randomly placed announcement banners and unclear buttons on top made the homepage to look confusing.
With the this project, we wanted to accomplish following goals:
To learn more about our users’ experience with the current site, we conducted user interviews and usability testing. Based on the feedbacks we collected, we were able to identify 3 major user behavior using this platform.
“When I go into Velocity, I care more about information design than pretty looking UI. As long as I can find contents as quickly as possible, the better.”
Many users struggled navigating through pages to find the right content. We needed to find the best way to make their discovery experience easy and seamless.
The design process consisted of card sorting, information architecture, task flows, and creating low-fi/high-fi wireframes.
However, as time went on, Alex began to realize that using an older version of WhatsApp came with some drawbacks. They missed out on some of the newer features and security updates that were available in the latest version of the app. Despite this, Alex was grateful for the temporary solution that had allowed them to stay connected with loved ones.
One of Alex's friends, Sarah, was particularly grateful for the discovery. She had been struggling to keep up with her family and friends who lived abroad, and the older version of WhatsApp had been a lifesaver. Together, Alex and Sarah explored the features of the old WhatsApp, marveling at how much technology had advanced since then.

Determined to find a solution, Alex began searching online for a way to download an older version of WhatsApp that would work on their KitKat 4.4.2 device. After scouring through various websites and forums, Alex stumbled upon a reputable source that offered the old version of WhatsApp compatible with KitKat 4.4.2.

Excited by the discovery, Alex carefully downloaded and installed the older version of WhatsApp on their device. To their relief, the app worked seamlessly, and they were able to send and receive messages, photos, and videos just like before.
The story of Alex and their journey with WhatsApp on KitKat 4.4.2 serves as a reminder of the importance of adaptability and resourcefulness in the face of technological advancements. As the years went by, Alex eventually upgraded to a newer device, and with it, they were able to install the latest version of WhatsApp. They looked back on their experience with the older version fondly, remembering the community of users who had come together to stay connected.
As Alex continued to use the older version of WhatsApp, they began to notice that some of their friends had also downloaded the same version to stay connected. It was as if a small community of users had formed, all using the same old version of WhatsApp on their KitKat devices.
But users should be aware of these risks and always download from a reliable source to avoid any malware. Also users should always keep in mind to update whenever possible.
There is never a perfect design! We had a lot of positive feedbacks from our users with the redesign. Users were satisfied with cleaner UI and improved navigational experience.
However, even the new design could not satisfy our users 100%. As they continued using the tool, they faced with new sets of problems. I learned how important it is to never get fully satisfied with the design decisions and the continue the effort of iteration, which should not be an option but a habitual routine.
